Role Summary

We are seeking a high-impact, strategically oriented Sr. Director of Procurement to lead and transform the strategic sourcing, vendor management, contracting, and material acquisition across our data center infrastructure portfolio. This role is responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies enabling executive decision-making within a fast-paced, AI focused organization that align with program schedules, cost controls, quality standards, and contractual requirements — with a heavy emphasis on long-lead equipment, critical MEP systems, and partner/vendor alignment.

The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in construction procurement, contract negotiation, and supply chain risk management, ideally in a hyperscale or mission-critical environment. They must be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, partner-led delivery model, where coordination and foresight are key.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Procurement Leadership

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies for long-lead and high-risk components (e.g., transformers, switchgear, chillers, generators).

  • Define procurement milestones and integration points within project schedules.

• Vendor Management & Prequalification

  • Source, evaluate, and onboard vendors for major materials, systems, and services.

  • Build preferred vendor frameworks and manage performance through KPIs and QBRs.

  • Interface with IPP partners to evaluate risks, cost controls and ensure coordinated finance and project delivery.

• Contracting & Commercial Terms

  • Lead negotiations for pricing, terms, warranties, and delivery schedules.

  • Partner with legal and finance to finalize contracts and manage risk exposure.

• Logistics & Delivery Coordination

  • Oversee logistics strategies, storage needs, and delivery phasing in collaboration with construction and commissioning teams.

  • Mitigate bottlenecks by aligning procurement plans with project execution rhythms.

• Cost & Cash Flow Oversight

  • Track procurement budgets and commit/spend curves to support capital planning.

  • Identify opportunities for cost savings through value engineering or alternative sourcing.

• Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with engineering, development, and construction teams to ensure product compatibility, submittal approval, and timely availability.

  • Coordinate procurement inputs for investor reporting and executive dashboards.

 

Qualifications

• 10+ years of procurement experience in construction, industrial development, or data center environments.

• Strong track record managing sourcing and contracting of critical infrastructure systems.

• Deep understanding of lead times, logistics constraints, and supply chain risk in high-complexity projects.

• Excellent negotiation, organizational, and relationship-building skills.

• Proficiency with procurement platforms and ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Procore, etc.).

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (CPSM, PMP, or MBA preferred).
