Wyoming community leader to guide initiative putting local workers and communities at the center of America's AI infrastructure build-out
Casper, WY - March 11, 2026 – Prometheus Hyperscale, announced today the appointment of Eric Schlidt to serve as Director of Build Wyoming, the company’s initiative that puts Wyoming’s workforce at the forefront of building America’s next generation of AI infrastructure. Eric will lead and advance Build Wyoming’s work to deliver lasting economic value for Wyoming communities, workers, and families.
Eric brings extensive experience in regional economic development efforts across the state. He is a leader of Breakthrough Venture Capital, a Wyoming-focused venture fund that invests in high-growth startups and emerging technologies while helping strengthen the state’s entrepreneurial economy. He has also worked in large-scale gold mining operations and healthcare administration, gaining experience in complex industries that require operational discipline, regulatory awareness, and large organizational coordination.

Prometheus Hyperscale is currently developing data center sites near Casper and Evanston, Wyoming and has already started community discussions to develop and enter into Community Benefits Agreements in parallel with project planning and permitting. Community Benefit Agreements are agreements between developers and local communities that outline concrete commitments related to workforce development, local hiring, education and training, infrastructure investment, environmental stewardship, and long-term community wellbeing.
