Eric Schlidt
Director, Build Wyoming
Eric Schlidt is the Director of Build Wyoming, a Prometheus Hyperscale initiative. He is Wyoming-based investor, entrepreneur, and ecosystem builder focused on expanding access to capital and supporting the growth of innovative companies in the Rocky Mountain region. He is also leader of Breakthrough Venture Capital, a Wyoming-focused venture fund that invests in high-growth startups and emerging technologies while helping strengthen the state’s entrepreneurial economy.
Prior to his work in venture capital and Prometheus Hyperscale, Eric worked in large-scale gold mining operations and healthcare administration, gaining experience in complex industries that require operational discipline, regulatory awareness, and large organizational coordination. These experiences helped shape his approach to business emphasizing practical problem-solving, scalable business models, and long-term economic impact.
Eric is also deeply involved in regional economic development initiatives. His work focuses on creating long-term economic diversification by helping innovative companies start, grow, and remain connected to Wyoming.
Eric holds an MBA and a Master of Science in Healthcare Services from the University of Wyoming, along with two bachelor’s degrees from the University of Wyoming.
Outside of his professional work, he lives in Wyoming with his wife and their three sons. Through investment, mentorship, and community engagement, he is committed to building a stronger community and positioning Wyoming as an emerging hub for innovation.
